In a significant development, India's star seamer Jasprit Bumrah has donated his matchday shoes to the MCC after his five-wicket haul at Lord's. The right-arm pacer ticked off a goal from his bucket list on Friday, July 11, when he took his first five-wicket haul at the Mecca of Cricket.

Bumrah became the 15th Indian and the first since Ishant Sharma in 2014 to have his name etched on the Lord's honours board. It was a special moment for the seamer, adding another feather to his cap. Meanwhile, the MCC also got their wish fulfilled, as Bumrah donated his shoes, which will be displayed in the MCC museum at Lord's. Notably, Bumrah's shoes have been kept in the upper tier of the museum, while he has kept the match ball for himself.

Bumrah Speaks About Seeing His Name On Lord's Honours Board

Bumrah was elated after his milestone and remarked that it was a special feeling for him as he is unaware when will India next play at the Home Of Cricket. Jasprit, speaking to Times Now, remarked on his bowling.

"It feels really special because we don't come here very often. We don't play a lot of Test matches here. We come here maybe every four years, so you never know how many matches you'll get to play here. As a child, you've seen a lot of Test cricket played here. So now, being on the honours board feels good," Bumrah said after stumps on Day 2.

Sachin Tendulkar's Portrait Unveiled At MCC Museum

On Thursday, July 10, the MCC honoured India legend Sachin Tendulkar by unveiling a portrait in the legendary Long Room at Lord’s. The Master Blaster was present during the inauguration and later attended the day's play, ringing the bell before the start.

Interestingly, Sachin Tendulkar never had his name on the Lord's honours board as he never scored a hundred at this venue in his career.
