Royal Challengers Bengaluru's star batter, Virat Kohli, is all set to achieve a significant milestone as he prepares to play his 250th match for the franchise in the IPL, becoming the first player in history to achieve this feat for a single team.

This momentous occasion will see Kohli join the ranks of MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and Dinesh Karthik, who have also played 250 matches in the IPL.

The stylish right-handed batter will mark his 250th appearance tonight at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, a venue he has come to call his home, in a crucial encounter against the Delhi Capitals. While Kohli will be the fourth player to reach this monumental milestone, he stands alone as the first to achieve it exclusively for one team.

Throughout his illustrious career spanning 249 matches for RCB, Kohli has been a torchbearer with the bat, accumulating an impressive total of 7897 runs, which includes eight centuries and 55 half-centuries, at an average of 38.71 and a strike rate of 131.63.

Furthermore, Kohli holds the record for the most centuries in IPL history, with eight centuries to his name.

Kohli's association with Bengaluru based franchise dates back to the inception of the IPL, having been a pivotal member of the team since its inaugural season. He served as the captain of the franchise for eight years, from 2013 to 2021, before relinquishing the captaincy following IPL 2021.
