Rashid Khan posing with the head ahead of PAK vs AFG ODIs (X.com)
After suffering a humiliating 142-run loss in the series opener in Hambantota, Afghanistan produced a spirited performance against Pakistan in the second ODI on Thursday (August 24). However, it was not enough for Rashid Khan & Co. to pull off their maiden ODI victory against their ‘noisy neighbours’.
Courtesy of Naseem Shah's valiant efforts, which were ably assisted by Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, and Shadab Khan among others, Afghanns failed to defend a challenging 300-run total.
The focus will now move to Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium, where the two sides will meet one last time before getting ready for the Asia Cup 2023. The contest is scheduled to get underway at 3 PM IST on Saturday (August 26), with Pakistan having a good chance to complete a 3-0 sweep.
But the real question is whether Colombo's weather is suitable for a game of cricket. Let us take a closer look.
R. Premadasa Stadium Colombo Weather Forecast For Today
According to Worldweatheronline.com, patchy rain may interrupt the third and final ODI between Pakistan and Afghanistan. More than 70% (73) of the sky will be cloudy, albeit only 0.1 millimeters of rain are expected.
Colombo weather for AFG vs PAK, 3rd ODI (worldweatheronline.com)
As the conditions are set to be partially overcast, the humidity will be as high as 69% in Colombo. Due to the circumstances, there is a good chance that swing bowlers will benefit the most.
Since there is no chance of rain in the late afternoon and evening, the game should get a result even if a few overs get cut down due to the unpleasant weather.
