Cricket witnessed one of the most bizarre scenes during the Maharashtra Premier League as Kolhapur Tuskers met Raigad Royals. A moment of fielding chaos during the Eliminator match proved decisive, swinging momentum dramatically towards the Raigad Royals.

However, more importantly, it was also one of the best saves from a run-out by a batter and probably a never-seen-before fielding blunder by the opposition.

Chaos Unfolds In MPL 2025

Chasing 160 against Kolhapur Tuskers, Vicky Ostwal survived a bizarre mid-pitch collision with his partner, leaving both stranded and handing Kolhapur a golden run-out chance. While taking a double, as their eyes were on the ball, they crossed each others' paths and had a terrible collision that left them falling flat on the pitch for a few seconds.

Interestingly, the Tuskers inexplicably failed to capitalise on the gift. What followed left everyone stunned. The fielder threw the ball in from deep straight to the wicketkeeper, who did not take the bails off and astonishingly sent the ball back to the bowler rather than effect the run-out himself, despite Ostwal being nowhere near the crease.

Bowler Atman Pore, caught by surprise, fumbled the return. Sensing a second chance, a Kolhapur fielder scooped up the ball and sprinted toward the striker’s end. Realising the danger, Ostwal sprinted back in a last-ditch attempt to save his wicket. Pore’s throw then missed the stumps, and with no one backing up, Ostwal reached home safely.

The Royals’ players and staff burst into laughter and relief, while Kolhapur Tuskers stared in disbelief. Riding his luck, Ostwal went on to anchor the chase with a superb 74 off 54 balls. The farcical miss proved incredibly costly, driving Raigad Royals to a dramatic victory in this knockout clash.
