In a remarkable achievement, England's promising fast bowler Brydon Carse has attained a major landmark in the ongoing first Test against New Zealand at Hagley Oval in Christchurch. The right-arm pacer, who bagged four wickets in the first innings, dismantled the hosts with a sensational six-wicket haul in the second innings.

With Chris Woakes and Gus Atkinson opening the bowling, the visitors introduced Brydon Carse as their first change. However, the talented seamer outclassed his colleagues, rattling the Blackcaps with his hard-length bowling and a clinical spell with the old ball.

The fast bowler began his onslaught by dismissing the reliable duo of Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra, while saving his best to counter New Zealand's lower middle order. He trapped Glenn Phillips, Nathan Smith and Matt Henry plumb in front of the stumps before getting rid of Daryl Mitchell for a hard-fought 167-ball 84.

Thus, he registered a clinical six-wicket haul, recording the best bowling figures by an English in Tests at Hagley Oval. Stuart Broad held the record for six years; however, Brydon Carse managed to surpass him with his magical spell this morning.
