The third match of BPL 2024-25 between Khulna Tigers and Chittagong Kings was full of intense bashing. After the Tigers put up the highest total of the season on board, the Kings crumbled early to hand them off an easy 37-run win. However, the match was not without some nail-biting fireworks.
With that being said, let's check out how the match between Tigers and Kings panned out at Dhaka:
KHT vs CHK Highlights: William Bosisto's Fiery Knock Pushes Tigers To Mammoth Total
William Bosisto, fresh from the Nepal Premier League, started off strong in his first match of BPL. The 31-year-old played a fighting knock with his unbeatable stand of 75 runs. Though the Tigers were firing from the very start, Bosisto's inning helped the team rack up a strong total to intimidate the Kings.
Bosisto brought up his fifty in 36 balls and hooked 3 sixes and 8 boundaries to decorate his inning.
KHT vs CHK Highlights: Mahidul Islam Ankon-Bosisto Baffle Kings With Late Quickfire
While the Kings were successful in scalping only four wickets of Tigers, Mahidul Islam Ankon and William Bosisto paired up for a solid stand of 86 from 35 balls which shook the King's bowling attack.
At 14.2 overs, after Afif Hossain's dismissal, the Tigers were standing at 117-4 but the late gunning of the pair left the Kings stunned. While building the partnership, Ankon himself racked up his half-ton and scored 59 off 22 balls with 6 sixes and one boundary to his name.
KHT vs CHK Highlights: Abu Hider, Mohammad Nawaz Left Kings' Batters In Tatters
Abu Hider (4-44) and Mohammad Nawaz (2-13) paired up to add to the woes of the struggling Kings who came in to chase a massive total of 204 runs. Hider took out Parvez Hossain Emon in the third over and Mohammad Mithun in the 5th over to trigger the batting collapse of the Kings.
Usman Khan, Haider Ali, and Tom O'Connell fell consecutively in the 6th and 7th over where the last two were scalped by Mohammad Nawaz. This tumbling left the Kings reeling at 56-6 at the end of 6.2 overs with very little hope left to chase the game.
KHT vs CHK Highlights: Shamim Hossain Lights Up Kings With Late Resistance, Hider Bags Win For Tigers
After the early batting collapse, the match was already out of hand for the Kings with shameful failures from the promising top and middle order. Interestingly, the highest partnership that the Kings made was between Shamim Hossain and Aliss Islam where the former scored a massive 78 runs off 38 balls. Hossain's whirlwind innings though gave a glimpse of hope to Kings wasn't enough to make up for the gap left by the failed top-order batters.
Eventually, Hossain was dismissed while attempting to salvage the chase on the very first ball of the 19th over bowled by Hider. The Tigers bowlers, Oshane Thomas, Hasan Mahmud, Nasum Ahmed, and the captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, each took a wicket to trouble the Kings. Meanwhile Hider sealed the victory for the Tigers with a caught-and-bowled dismissal on the last ball of the 19th over, leading the Khulna Tigers to win the match by 37 runs.
