Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers will bump heads in the 13th match of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2022-23 on December 23 at The Gabba, Brisbane.

The two teams have had dissimilar campaigns so far with Brisbane Heat situated at the bottom of the points table with zilch wins after two games, whereas Adelaide Strikers enjoy the topmost position, having won all of their three matches.

The Heat have not had the best of the tournaments so far. While their bowlers have done sufficient so far in the season with the addition of Michael Neser, who took a four-for as well as a hat-trick in the last fixture versus Melbourne Renegades, adding further robustness to the unit, the batting line-up has misfired.

The Strikers have packaged as well-oiled machinery. Although two of their three wins came at the expense of Sydney Thunder, who themselves have been dismal (Yes, they got all-out for 15), to say the least, they still have shown enough of why they are worthy of a top spot. 

For Adelaide, Matthew Short (158 runs) and Henry Thornton (11 wickets) have proved be their biggest match-winners, sitting at the peak of the runs and wickets tally, respectively.
