Former England captain Nasser Hussain batted for Babar Azam as the latter's castigation grew leaps and bounds after Pakistan got floored by the visiting Ben Stokes and Co. 3-0 in the recently-concluded Test series.
Speaking on the greatness of Babar, Hussain stated how he is being treated harshly as of late and that his worth will only be known by many after he is no longer around.
Although the Pakistan skipper failed miserably in the leadership role against England, he came back to form with the bat, being the top-scorer for Pakistan in the series with 348 runs.
Here's what Hussain said to CricWick
"Babar Azam is under immense pressure. He is carrying a batting lineup. In the T20 World Cup, it was the first time I saw him look out of form.
"I think he'll end up as an all time great. I wish people cut him a little bit of slack, because he'll go through periods when he doesn't get runs. And in this part of the world, you get absolutely vilified for that. You won't realise how good Babar is until he is gone. Because he's that much of a special talent."
After losing to England, Pakistan will next collide with New Zealand in two Tests and three ODIs at home.
