On Friday, November 21, Day 3 of the 2nd and final Test between Bangladesh and Ireland got underway at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. Bizarre scenes occurred in the ongoing match as the Test was halted for a few minutes because of an earthquake.

The incident occurred in the 56th over, which is when an earthquake struck Bangladesh, and the players panicked due to its impact. The spectators were moving here and there in panic, and the Irish cricketers moved to the ground for safety.

The earthquake lasted for around 30 seconds, and the game resumed shortly after a slight delay. However, later it was confirmed from local media that local media in Bangladesh, the magnitude of the earthquake in Bangladesh was over 5 on the Richter scale, with the epicentre being Ghorashal, Bangladesh.

The entire coaching staff was on the ground, while the players lay low on the pitch, and the spectators were quickly rushed to a safe spot. Fortunately, there was no injury scare to any of the people present in the ground, and the play resumed without any worry.

Talking about the ongoing match, Bangladesh are way ahead in the game as the Tigers, batting first, put 476 runs on the board. Mushfiqur Rahim, who is featuring in his 100th Test match, scored a ton alongside Litton Das. In reply, Ireland are struggling and are reduced to 211/7 after 69 overs.

Further, Bangladesh are leading the series 1-0 and a win in the ongoing match would help them seal the series, but unfortunately for them, this game won't be a part of the WTC cycle because Ireland are not a full member.
