On the back of SM Meherob’s late batting heroics and Ripon Mondol’s bowling masterclass in the death overs, Bangladesh A defeated India A in the semi-final of the ACC Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025. The thrilling win sends the young tigers to the final in unforgettable fashion.

Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of the semi-final match of the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 between India A and Bangladesh A as it panned out at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on Friday, November 21.

Meherob–Yasir late onslaught lifts Bangladesh after early struggles

Asked to bat first, Bangladesh A posted a strong 194 after once looking unlikely to even cross 160. Opener Jishan Alam attacked early before Gurjapneet Singh removed him, leaving them 49 for 1 at the end of the powerplay. India A then controlled the proceedings with Harsh Dubey and Suyash Sharma tightening the middle overs.

Regular wickets kept Bangladesh A in check, with only Habibur Rahman Sohan resisting strongly for a composed 65. His dismissal just before the slog overs put India A firmly on top, seemingly controlling the pace and momentum heading into the closing overs of the innings.

But the game flipped as SM Meherob (48 off 18) and Yasir Ali (17 off 9) exploded late, hammering 50 runs in the final two overs to catch India A off guard. Despite the pacers leaking runs, Gurjapneet claimed two wickets, while spinners Harsh (1/22) and Suyash (0/17) impressed the most for India A.

Akbar Ali’s overthrow chaos sends IND A vs BAN A semi-final to a super over

Chasing 195, India A burst out with Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s blazing 38 off 15 as he powered them past 50 inside four overs, before falling to Abdul Gaffar Saqlain. Naman Dhir, at three, had a scratchy start and fell just after the powerplay. Priyansh Arya tried to keep the scoreboard moving but could not convert his start.

Jitesh Sharma and Nehal Wadhera joined at the halfway mark, cautiously navigating the spinners before opening up to lift the run rate. Jitesh’s vital 33 off 23 left India A in a puzzle, but Bangladesh, led by Ripon Mondol’s brilliant death-over bowling, kept the big hits away.

India A needed 16 off the last over and the equation came down to four off the final ball but managed only a single, seemingly sealing BAN A’s win. Yet a shocking brainfade from keeper Akbar Ali, attempting an unnecessary direct hit, gifted an overthrow that allowed India A to steal three runs and force a dramatic Super Over.

Ripon Mondal’s brilliance and a dramatic wide send BAN A to final

India A, who had fought hard to take the game to a Super Over, fell apart as Ripon Mondal struck twice in two balls, leaving them all out for zero.

Needing just one run, Bangladesh A also lost a wicket on the first ball, but a wide from Suyash Sharma on the second sealed their place in the final.
