Day 3 of the second Test between India and South Africa in Guwahati turned into a memorable one for Kyle Verreynne, he completed 100 dismissals for South Africa in Test cricket. The landmark came when he took the catch to remove Indian skipper Rishabh Pant, who fell to a reckless shot.
Pant walked down the pitch and swung wildly, edging Marco Jansen’s short-of-length delivery. UltraEdge confirmed a spike, and the Pant not only lost his wicket for 7 off 8 balls but also wasted a review in the process.

With his latest dismissal of Pant, Kyle Verreynne entered an elite list of South African wicketkeepers.

The visitors’ strong position was built on their massive first-innings total on Day 2. Senuran Muthusamy scored his maiden Test century (109). Marco Jansen missed a hundred by just seven runs, falling for 93. The pair frustrated India, adding crucial runs and pushing the total to 489 runs.
For India, Kuldeep Yadav impressed with 4/115, while Bumrah, Jadeja and Siraj picked up two wickets each.
India under pressure on Day 3
India had begun the day positively with Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul looking comfortable. But once the first wicket fell, the innings lost direction. South Africa’s tall seamer Marco Jansen sparked the slide, taking crucial wickets of Pant, Dhruv Jurel and Nitish Kumar Reddy. His strikes have left India in deep trouble and it is also on the verge of facing a follow-on.
At the time of writing, India are at 141/7 and need 149 runs more to avoid follow-on with Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav at the crease.
