Just four runs came off the Chamari Athapaththu’s final over. A sharp bit of bowling by the Sri Lankan all-rounder, and the Giants, who seemed to be finishing things off on a high, failed to deliver after Gardner and Litchfield’s wickets.

An excellent running catch from Athapaththu did not allow Gardner to continue her swashbuckling batting in the middle. She falls after a breezy 17-ball 30.
