That's it for today. We will come back again tomorrow with another live blog. Stay tuned to OneCricket.

Gujarat Giants won by 11 runs

10:45 PM | In a see-saw battle, Gujarat Giants trumped Delhi Capitals and kept their playoffs dream alive.

Laura Wolvaardt and Ashleigh Gardner's half-centuries helped them put up fighting total of 147 runs. While Gardner herself backed up her batting work, she was aided by Tanuja Kanwar and Kim Garth as Delhi Capitals folded for 136 and lost by 11 runs.

As for DC, even after this defeat, they are still placed second on the points table but are yet to make the knockouts.

WOW! Gujarat Giants win. As the difference in runs and balls increased, Poonam Yadav goes for a drive and holes out at the mid-wicket region.

10:35 PM | DC need 13 runs and have one wicket in hand.

Poonam Yadav is the no.11.

Reddy has given it away. Plays an uppish drive off a length delivery and gets caught. Garth takes the wicket. What a cliffhanger!

Following Reddy's boundary-hit, Shikha helped her team's cause as her smartness adds five wides to the total of DC, who now needs 20 off three overs to win.

10:29 PM | Alright, the game now hangs in balance. Wait, GG have taken a review to challenge umpire's wide call. The on-field decision stands.

10:23 PM | Arundhati Reddy is not giving up. DC scores 10 runs from the 16th over as the equation for them now reads 33 off 24.

10:21 PM | With five overs to go, GG need just two wickets to win, while DC are still 43 runs away from a victory.

Shikha Pandey is DC's no.10.

Another pin knocked down. Tanuja bowls wide from the stumps. Radha Yadav throws a kitchen sink at it. But the ball catches the edge of her bat is taken safely by the wicket-keeper.

Radhav Yadav comes out to bat.

Aayush: GG are the sure-shot favourites now

Massive, massive moment in the match. Kapp gets run-out. Tanuja Kanwar had a shy at the stumps and hit a bullseye.

10:12 PM | Umpires check for a run-out. It's out.

Arundhati Reddy is in at no.8

Another sweep goes wrong for a DC batter. Taniya Bhatia is the latest victim. Gardner causes her dismissal. Plays sweep at an angle far away from the line of the delivery as the ball smashes the stumps.

Kapp is doing all on her own. Tonks Harleen for a four and a six to bring the required rate down.

Taniya Bhatia is out in the centre.

Jonassen tries an inside-out shot. Fails in executing it as Harleen Deol takes her wicket via a catch at long-off.

9:56 PM | All of a sudden, DC seems to be ahead in the game. However, it's a matter of one wicket for GG. With 10 overs end, the Capitals are at 78/4.

9:50 PM | This over could change the momentum. DC gather 16 runs off it

Aayush: In a must-win encounter, Gujarat are giving their all. But mind you, Delhi have a knack of making comebacks.

Jess Jonassen is GG's no.6.

Jemimah is out. Pokes at a wideish delivery to give an straightforward catch to the wicket-keeper.

9:38 PM | GG have come back into the game with two back-to-back wickets. Powerplay ends with DC at 51/3.

Marizanne Kapp walks to the middle.

It's all happening here. Jemimah runs for a single. Capsey falls short of her crease and gets run-out. Two in the over for GG.

Jemimah Rodrigues is the new batter.

That's plumb. Captain gets captain. Lanning misses a sweep as a Sneh Rana delivery hit her pads. Umpire adjudges her lbw.

9:29 PM | After Gardner bowls four dot balls, Capsey launched an attack and hammers consecutive sixes on the final two deliveries of the over.

9:25 PM | Runs are coming thick and fast. After a quiet first over, Delhi Capitals have flown to 32/1 at the end of the fourth.

If Gujarat Giants lose, they will not make the playoffs in all likelihood.

Alice Capsey walks in at no.3 for DC.

Tanuja Kanwar makes a comeback. After Shafali Verma treats the spinner with a six, she cramps her up and eventually fetches her wicket as the ball crashes on to the stumps, deflecting off her shoes.

9:14 PM | Garth gets the ball moving. Starts off with the middle off line and concedes just four runs.

9:11 PM | Lanning has been hit on her pads. GG takes a review. Umpire's call saves the batter. It's not-out.

9:08 PM | It's time for the second innings. Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma are the DC openers. Kim Garth has the ball in her hand.

Watch 🎥

8:59 PM | An innings of two halves for Gujarat Giants. While Delhi Capitals kept them on tenterhooks till Ashleigh Gardner's arrival, the tide changed after the 11th over.

Laura Wolvaardt and Gardner scored fifties as Gujarat landed at 147/4 at the end of the 20th.

For the Capitals, Jess Jonassen claimed two wickets.

A wicket on the final ball of the innings. Hemalatha swings her bat wildly but gets holed out. Jess Jonassen dismisses her.

Gardner belts two fours off the final over to get to her half-century.

Dayalan Hemalatha is in at no.5.

Chopped on... Arundhati Reddy yorks Laura Wolvaardt as the ball ricocheted off her pads to the stumps.

8:46 PM | 150 on the cards now. If GG finish anywhere near that, it will be a brilliant recovery from where they were not too long ago.

Laura Wolvaardt brings up her maiden WPL fifty after facing 41 balls. The innings that till the last over was dribbling has come alive suddenly.

Laura takes on Jonassen. A maximum and two fours soars her strike-rate and takes her to 47 off 38 deliveries.

The partnership between Gardner and Laura touches the 50-run mark.

Aayush: The Giants should aim for at least 50 more runs with five overs left in the innings. While Gardner seems to batting on an altogether different pitch, Laura is also opening up.

8:29 PM | While Gardner smashes a much-needed boundary, Laura picked out the fielders throughout the over.

8:28 PM | Gardner takes a review. Original decision is out. The ultra-edge shows a spike as the ball passes her bat. It's not-out.

8:23 PM | Gardner does her part and fetches two boundaries off the Shikha Pandey over. But Laura, who is batting on 22 off 27, continues to struggle.

8:14 PM | DC takes a review for lbw. On-field umpire has adjudged the batter not-out. The decision stands.

Ashleigh Gardner is the new batter.

8:10 PM | Gujarat must throw caution to the wind. At the halfway mark, they are 54/2.

Harleen falls via a caught-behind as she plays a cut and edges the ball to the wicket-keeper's gloves Jess Jonassen strikes in her second over.

8:08 PM | DC have taken a review for a caught-behind. It's out.

Aayush: This GG innings seems to be going nowhere at the moment. Harleen and Laura are not timing the ball well, going too hard at it. The score reads 42/1 at the end of the eighth over.

Poonam Yadav, where have you been? Bowls the first over on her WPL debut shows her class rightaway. Gives away a mere three runs.

7:57 PM | Umpire signals for a strategic time-out.

Just 32 runs off the powerplay for Gujarat Giants. After Sophia Dunkley's wicket, they did manage to get a boundary here and there. But Delhi Capitals restrained them for the better part.

Harleen survives. She goes on the attack mode. Scores a boundary and soon tries for another. The ball does not come onto the bat nicely but the batter heaves a sigh of relief as the fielder could not reach in time to catch it.

7:41 PM | Another quality over by Kapp. Concedes just four runs.

7:38 PM | Sloppy fielding allows Harleen Deol a four. Gujarat are 11/1 after two overs.

Harleen Deol walks out as DC's no.3.

Marizanne Kapp keeps it full and tight. Sophia Dunkley runs out of patience as she heaved a slog straight to the mid-on fielder.

7:29 PM | Laura Wolvaardt and Sophia Dunkley strides out to bat. Marizanne Kapp will bowl the first over. Action starts in 3, 2, 1...

Aayush: GG have given a major boost to their batting line-up with the addition of Laura Wolvaardt. Can we expect some fireworks tonight?

Pitch Report (Mel Jones and Deep Dasgupta): It is a new pitch. It is right in the middle and there is only a 2-3 meters difference between the off side and the on side. No real short boundary tonight. The ground has been sprayed and dew won't be a factor tonight. The pitch is hard and true and firm. Not much for the bowlers but a fair covering of grass might help. There might be a little bit of moisture which may help the bowlers initially. It is quite breezy at the moment and if it continues, it will help the bowlers get some swing.

The buildup

Would history repeat itself, or will Gujarat come and punch above its weight?

If forgotten, let me remind you what happened when Delhi met Gujarat the last time this season. First, GG got the beating from the young pocket dynamite, aka Shafali Verma. Thanks to Shafali's blistering 76* off just 28, the Capitals chased the target of 106 runs in just 7.1 overs - 43 DELIVERIES!
