The 'Fizz' as he is popularly known, Mustafizur Rahman has been awarded player of the match for his magnificent performance with the ball on Chepauk wicket. The cutters were too good at times and his short ball usage was mostly optimal. Variations were brilliant and RCB could not read them for most part of the game. Fizz finished with figures of Four overs, 4/29 picking wickets of Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green.

The writing was on the wall for RCB after they lost wickets in middle phase again that too after a decent start as skipper Faf du Plessis took the responsibility upon himself to score runs at the top. Mustafizur Rahman bagged four wickets to his name on his CSK debut and the same old story continued for RCB whose middle-order fell cheaply. However, Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik brought RCB back in the game with whopping 95-run stand to take them to 173.

In reply, CSK had a wonderful start as Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad had the ball under their control, striking boundaries at will. Gaikwad couldn't do as much as he would have liked as the upcoming batters Ajinkya Rahane and Daryl Mitchell scored some boundaries and perished too. Meanwhile, Ravindra's show came to an end after his 15-ball blitz scoring 37. In the end, some quick wickets did give RCB some hope but Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja finished the job with ease for the home side to earn them a victory by six wickets.
