This concludes our live coverage for this match. Wait until tomorrow for another blog and stay tuned to OneCricket.

10:53 PM | The only time Mumbai Indians were in the game was when they took the first-over wicket of Devon Conway. Ajinkya Rahane's blitz followed as his 27-ball 61 made the result predictable.

Ruturaj Gaikwad batted through the chase, taking Chennai Super Kings to a seven-wicket victory.

Four more runs off Rayudu's bat and CSK do away with the run-chase in an emphatic manner. A seven-wicket victory for MS Dhoni's men.

Aayush: The equation reduces to five off 12.

Full-toss and Rayudu did not let it go scot-free. Adds four runs to the total.  An outside edge but the luck is running by CSK's side. Another boundary.

10:40 PM | Umpire signals for a strategic break.

Aayush: Piyush Chawla give away only a run in the 16th over. CSK need 23 runs off 24 balls.

Six more runs. Gaikwad just clears the long-on boundary. Brings the target further down to 26 runs.

Ambati Rayudu is the new batter.

Chopped on... Kartikeya strikes in the form of Dube's wicket. But is it too late for MI to make a comeback?

Aayush: CSK require 32 runs off six overs. All eyes on net run rate now.

That's a biggie!!! Dube accepts a slot ball with gives it the deserved treatment.

Ball stays low but Dube finds enough power on a pull to send the ball four a boundary.

Aayush: 10 overs are done and CSK are 97/2. They need 61 runs to win.

Dube joins the act. Punches one down the ground for a four. Ruturaj also matches his batting partner and fetches four runs via a drive in the cover region.

Shivam Dube is in at no.4 for CSK.

Rahane is gone. A breakthrough for Mumbai. Chawla provides it. The batter tries to play a straight pull. Ball hits low on his bat and the fielder at long-on completes an easy catch.

Nicely done by Rana. Uses his footwork to full effect and places the ball in the gap towards mid-wicket for a four.

Kumar Kartikeya is MI's Impact Player. He replaces Tim David.

Time-out!

Aayush: The Ajinkya Rahane show dominated the powerplay. CSK are 68/1 at the end of the sixth over.

19-ball fifty for Rahane. Fastest of the season so far. Tonks two consecutive boundaries to collect the milestone.

Piyush Chawla comes in to the attack.

50-run partnership between Ajinkya Rahane and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Rahane is on a mission. Plays a flick off Cameron Green and hammers another maximum. He is currently batting on 43 off 16 deliveries.

Another loose delivery, another maximum. Rahane is giving the CSK innings an early impetus. And he follows that up with a cut shot. Four more runs. Add three more boundaries to this. That's a five-boundary over. 23 runs come off it.

Pulled away for a six. Rahane announces is arrival in the CSK jersey.

Arshad Khan will bowl from the other end.

Rahane starts off with a boundary. Oh, its four leg byes.

Ajinkya Rahane is CSK's no.3.

Behrendorff was finding ways to get out in that over and he finally perishes. A Jason Behrendorff delivery evokes an inside-edge and then crashes on to the stumps.

9:22 PM | Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway are CSK's openers. Jason Behrendorff will bowl the first over of the innings.

9:11 PM | Barring the powerplay, Mumbai Indians do not have much to take out of the that innings. The Chennai Super Kings spinners Mitchell Santner and Ravindra Jadeja combined to bring MI's batting line-up on its knees as the duo shared five wickets between themselves.

Tim David showed glimpses of his power but as he got dismissed by Tushar Deshpande, Mumbai could only get to 157/8 in their 20 overs, that too was only made possible by Hrithik Shokeen's 13-ball 18.

Mumbai Indians finish the innings at 157/8.

9:10 PM | MI have review for a wide. No, the on-field decision stays.

Mumbai Indians gets over 150 runs. Pretorius goes for a short-pitch delivery. Shokeen plays a pull but top-edges the ball for a boundary. Now, he goes after the full straight and hits the ball cleanly for a four.

An outside edge yields four runs over third man. Shokeen scores a much-needed boundary.

Aayush: MI are 141/8 after 19 overs. Will they touch the 150-run mark.

Piyush Chawla is the new batter.

Deshpande has his man. Ends David's onslaught. Ajinkya Rahane takes a wonderful catch at deep mid-wicket.

Six, Four, Six... In the slot for Tim David and he hits the ball straight as an arrow for a biggie. A poor fielding by the CSK fielders gives him second boundary on the trot. And he muscles one over extra cover for a maximum.

Hrithik Shokeen is in at no.9.

Stubbs departs. Maiden IPL wicket for Magala. Pretorius flicks the ball to Ruturaj as the duo combines to take a remarkable catch at the boundary.

Aayush: Only one boundary has been scored in the last six overs. This tells so much about how the innings has been for MI.

Magala comes for his second spell.

8:43 PM | Umpire signals for a strategic break.

Aayush: Santner ends his spell with the figures of 4-28. With five overs remaining in the innings, Mumbai Indians are currently at 109/6.

Tristan Stubbs joins Tim David in the middle.

Six and Out!!! Ball turns in. Tilak misses it and is hit on the pads. Jadeja gets another wicket, his third in the match.

8:35 PM | MI have challenged on-field umpire's lbw decision. It's out.

On the pads and Tilak slog sweeps it for a maximum.

Dhoni Review System bests SKY

Dwaine Pretorius is the new bowler.

Aayush: MI are 84/5 at the halfway stage. Their hopes again rely on Tilak Varma, who played the saviour versus RCB as well.

Tim David is in at no.7.

CSK spinners are writing MI's collapse. Another batter falls to Santner. Arshad Khan goes this time via an lbw.

Arshad Khan walks out to bat.

Time-out!

Fabulous caught and bowled by Jadeja. Green hits it straight ferociously. The spinner lifts his hands in the air and takes a blinder with the closed eyes.

Tilak guides the ball to the left of the slip fielder and attains his first boundary of the match.

Tilak Varma is out in the centre.

A cheap dismissal for Suryakumar. Santer darts one down the leg side. The batter plays a sweep but straight to the gloves of the wicket-keeper.

8:08 PM | CSK have taken a review for caught-behind. It's out.

Suryakumar Yadav is MI's no.4.

Bowling change brings the wicket. Jadeja bowls a tad short. Kishan plays a pull shot but could not get the required connection to clear the long-on boundary.

Ravindra Jadeja will bowl the seventh over.

Aayush: End of powerplay and Mumbai Indians are 61/1.

A full-toss by Magala and Kishan drives with some power for four runs. And sends a length delivery over mid-on to get the same result.

Cameron Green greets Mitchell Santer with a four. Plays with the straight bat and hammers one to the left of the lon-on fielder for a four.

When legends met

Cameron Green is the new batter.

OUT!!! Deshpande breaks past Rohit's defence. The batter gets caught in the crease. Back of a length delivery hits the top of the middle-stump.

Wow!!! An upper cut for a six. Width on offer and the skipper cuts the ball uppishly and easily clears the deep point boundary. MI and Rohit are going strong today.

Ishan Kishan drives and drives handsomely. A four over midwicket now. Back-to-back boundaries for pocket dynamo.

Sisanda Magala comes into the attack and concedes a boundary on his maiden IPL ball.

A wild slog. Ball moves away, catches a thick outside edge from Rohit's bat and races to the boundary.

7:38 PM | Deepak Chahar has gone out of the field. Subhranshu is the substitute fielder.

Tushar Deshpande will bowl the second over.

An inswinger by Chahar. Rohit dances down the track and smacks the ball over over extra cover for a four.  Ends the over with another boundary. Mumbai Indians are 9/0 at the end of the first over.

7:27 PM | Mumbai Indians' openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan are striding out to the middle. Deepak Chahal will start the proceedings for Chennai Super Kings.

Aayush: Dhoni did not mention at the toss but Sisanda Magala is in CSK's starting XI. Also Tushar Deshpande has been preferred over Rajvardhan Hangargekar, who is kept among the Impact Player options. Interesting!

Impact Players

Mumbai Indians: Ramandeep Singh, Sandeep Warrier, Arjun Tendulkar, Kumar Kartikeya, Nehal Wadhera

Chennai Super Kings: Ambati Rayudu, Akash Singh, Subhranshu Senapati, Shaik Rasheed, Rajvardhan Hangargekar

Playing XIs

Chennai Super Kings: Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu, Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner, Dwaine Pretorius, MS Dhoni (c and wk), Sisanda Magala, Tushar Deshpande

Mumbai Indians: Ishan Kishan (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Tim David, Tilak Varma, Tristan Stubbs, Cameron Green, Hrithik Shokeen, Jason Behrendorff, Piyush Chawla, Arshad Khan

Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians Captain): Yeah, we would have bowled as well. But it is a good pitch to bat on, so we will look to put runs on the board. Yeah, that is the only option left for us now. To be honest, we are doing well. We have one injury. I won't call it an injury rather I will call it a precautionary. Jofra Archer is not playing this game. The rest of the team is same. We are back here at Wankhede after a while. The crowd are amazing here. We will look to do well.

MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings Captain): We will bowl first. I think one of the most memorable venues. Not only because of the 2011 World Cup venue but also 2007 when we won and we came back and the kind of reception we got from Mumbai was fantastic. Overall it is a fantastic place to play cricket also the wickets are generally very good. It has plenty of pace and bounce so you can play your shots.

Toss update

Chennai Super Kings opt to bowl

Pitch Report (Ian Bishop): The square boundaries are 63 metres and 67 metres respectively from one end. The shortest boundary is at the fine leg/third man region worth 54 metres. The average score here in the 2022 IPL was about 167. Teams would be hoping of a bigger score on this size of a ground. CSK were bowled out for 97 here last year. It is a well grassed surface all the way through. The new ball might do just a little bit something.
