Ace KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy weaved his magic for the umpteenth time in the IPL, dismissing Liam Livingstone with a magical delivery during his side's ongoing group-stage fixture against Punjab Kings.
The incident took place in the sixth over when Livingstone looked all set to form a consolidating stand for PBKS alongside skipper Shikhar Dhawan. After Harshit Rana wreaked havoc in the Kings' camp, dismissing Prabhsimran Singh and Bhanuka Rajapaksa cheaply, Livingstone joined hands with Dhawan to steady the ship.
He cleared his aggressive intentions right from the word go and went berserk against Andre Russell to collect 13 runs off his over. He was looking dangerous and in mood to destroy the KKR bowling lineup.
However, KKR captain Nitish Rana's decision to introduce Varun Chakravarthy to the attack proved to be a tactical masterstroke, as the mystery spinner bamboozled Livingstone with a dream leg break, trapping him plumb in front of the stumps.
PBKS suffered a massive setback with the Englishman's departure, which left them reeling at 53 for three. After his dismissal, keeper-batter Jitesh Sharma has entered the middle, trying to stabilise the Kings' innings alongside Dhawan. As of writing, the visitors are 70 for three in eight overs, with Sharma and Dhawan batting on 3* and 31*, respectively.
