Glenn Maxwell And David Warner Amongst Several Big Names Doubtful For India ODIs

After the fourth and final Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2023, the Australian management's focus will shift towards the upcoming three-match ODI series beginning on March 17. A big worry for the visitors remains the availability of four key players —David Warner, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Marsh, and Glenn Maxwell

Apart from Cummins, whose return to India will depend on his family condition, all others are facing injury concerns. Steve Smith, who is currently leading Australia in Ahmedabad, is in-line to take over the ODI reins if Cummins doesn't return.

Warner returned home midway after injuring his elbow in the Delhi Test, while Marsh and Maxwell are racing against time to get fit.

Maxwell, in his comeback professional match in the Sheffield Shield last week, suffered a wrist injury, forcing him back into rehab.

As per News Corp, both Warner and Maxwell will travel to India, but their participation in all matches is not guaranteed with one eye on the ICC World Cup 2023 as well.

Earlier, pacer Jhye Richardson has already been ruled out of the tour due to a hamstring injury, with Nathan Ellis replacing him.
