Announced by the BCCI in July 2024, Gautam Gambhir took on the role of the Indian Cricket Team’s head coach, replacing Rahul Dravid after a decorated tenure. Having steered his teams to remarkable victories during his playing days and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to a title win in IPL 2024 as its mentor, Gambhir brought his tactical brilliance and hardened resolve to the coaching role.

Gambhir's leadership is expected to inject a fresh strategic approach to the team's dynamics. Soon after GG joined the team, the Men in Blue acquired the ICC Champions Trophy Title in 2025. Now, with veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retired, Gambhir will have a challenge stepping into the new era of Indian cricket.

In August 2024, the South African legend Morne Morkel was appointed as the bowling coach of the Indian men’s cricket team. Morkel replaced Sairaj Bahutule, the interim coach who took the place after Paras Mhambrey’s termination.

Morkel’s name was suggested by Gautam Gambhir at the time of his appointment. Gambhir and Morkel worked for the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL and the Durban Super Giants in the SA20 for two seasons (2022-23).

In January 2025, Former Saurashtra batter and National Cricket Academy (NCA) batting coach Sitanshu Kotak replaced Abhishek Nayar in the Indian cricket team management.

Nayar’s expertise as the batting and assistant coach of the team came under the radar after the dreadful series loss against Australia earlier this year. According to a BCCI official’s confession to PTI, Abhishek Nayar's expertise wasn’t helping the players. Hence, Kotak, a specialist batting coach who has been around for a long time, can be trusted for the position.

T. Dilip, continuing his role as the fielding coach, has been crucial in transforming the Indian team into a "well-oiled machine" in the field.

His innovative approaches, including the fielding medal ceremony and motivational post-game speeches, have not only boosted the team’s morale but also its on-field agility and sharpness.
