Today's fact is likely to stun many Indian cricket fans, who love to witness India dominating Test cricket.  Only four out of the top 50 run-scorers in the longest format are Indian players in the calendar year of 2022.

The credit for his fact can also be given to the Indian team playing fewer Test matches in 2022. It is evident that the focus was on the T20I format, due to the T20 World Cup also taking place.

The red-ball campaign started with a three-match Test series in South Africa, followed by two-match home series against Sri Lanka.

Afterwards, India faced England for a one-off Test match which was a rescheduled fixture of the 2021 series. Currently, they are up against the challenge of Bangladesh, which is a two-match series.

In total, Indian team have been part of seven Tests, with one more to go in this year. On the other hand, Australia are featuring in their 10th Test match of the calendar year.

To everyone's surprise, England are into their 15th Test match of 2022. Clearly, Australia and England have played quite a few more than the Indian team.
