Some more action awaits us on the day 10 of the Lanka Premier League which will take place at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo with two enthralling matches scheduled for the day.

Match 17: Galle Gladiators vs Jaffna Kings

Second-placed Jaffna will be up against fourth-placed Galle which would potentially be an all-important clash for the latter side. While the Kings have won four matches from six, their counterparts have done the opposite by winning just two games from as many matches.

Key Players

  • 10 wickets in 3 matches mean Nuwan Thushara has done a pretty decent job while bowling at an economy rate of 6.83.
  • James Fuller has been consistently bowling well scalping a total of 10 from 5 matches at an economy of 6.50.

Prediction

Looking at the current record, the Kings look the favourite as they have managed to triumph in four of their matches making their qualification part easier. While Galle are in no way weaker, the side could be in trouble when they face a quality line-up like that of Jaffna.

Match 18: Kandy Falcons vs Dambulla Aura

The Falcons have played seven matches and have won six of them with 12 points to their name, keeping them at the top spot on the table. Whereas Aura have had a rather disappointing season with just one victory in six matches, putting them in the last place. Both these sides are coming off a great win, with Falcons dominating Colombo Stars in the previous game while Aura beating Galle Gladiators to earn their first triumph of the competition. Overall, both these sides have faced each other in five matches, with Dambulla Aura ahead by a margin of 3-2.

  • Jordan Cox was phenomenal in the previous game where he thumped 77 off 58 deliveries keeping his side in the competition.
  • Caribbean superstar Andre Fletcher has been playing a crucial role as he has done this season with 264 runs at an average of 52.80.

Prediction

The Kandy-based side have dominated almost every other opponent in the competition and the story here looks similar as they are expected to run over their counterparts.
