The Desert Vipers are set to come up against Sharjah Warriorz in the Qualifier 2 Match of the ongoing International League T20 2025 (ILT20).
The mouthwatering clash will take place on Friday, February 7 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. It's a do or die contest as the winning team will go straight to the final, and on the other side the tournament will come to and for the side that will fall short.
Desert Vipers
The Desert Vipers have had a fantastic tournament so far, finishing the league stage at the top of the table with seven wins out of the ten games.
However, there is a slight dip in their winning form lately as they will be coming into this game with three losses in their last four games, including one against the Dubai Capitals in the Qualifier 1.
They have some great names in their lineup like Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Alex Hales and veteran Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir. Hence, looking forward to what will be a do or die game, the Vipers will be hoping to be at their best in the Qualifier 2 and get through to their second final in three editions.
Sharjah Warriorz
Sharjah Warriorz, on the other side, are coming on the back of four wins in a row, including one against MI Emirates in the Eliminator match.
It was a complete team performance from Tim Southee and his men as the Warriorz got over the line against a strong MI Emirates side quite comprehensively, beating them by six wickets with more than one over remaining.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore has been their star batter for the Sharjah based franchise with kiwi speedsters Adam Milne and Tim Southee leading the bowling attack.
The Warrioz have never got through this stage of the tournament in the first two editions. Therefore, eyeing their first Final, Sharjah Warriorz will be aiming to continue their winning momentum and make it five wins in a row with a berth in the Final.
Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah - Pitch Report for Qualifier 2 Of ILT20 2025
The pitch at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium is expected to be a balanced one for both batting and bowling. However, considering the last couple of league games at the venue, spin bowlers might enjoy bowling here a lot. Runs came quiet easily in Sharjah at the start of the tournament but with time it became difficult for the batters to get going. Looking at the hundred percent chasing record at this venue this season, the team winning the toss will most likely choose to bowl first.
