THU vs HEA, Match 6: Venue Analysis

The Manuka Oval in Canberra is one venue where both batters and bowlers enjoy their time in the middle. The track is supportive of both of them. The seamers might be some movement early on.

THU vs HEA, Match 6 - Toss Factor

The pace bowlers are expected to dictate terms early on in the innings. The skipper winning the toss here might look to bat first and put runs on the board.

Scenario: If Sydney Thunder Fields First

Gurinder Sandhu, Tanveer Sangha, and Daniel Sams will be responsible for picking up Brisbane wickets in this fixture. The trio have been playing in the Big Bash League for some time now as they have a lot of experience now. The batting department will be handled by veteran Alex Hales and Cameron Bancroft.

Scenario: If Brisbane Heat Fields First

Experienced campaigners Michael Neser and Mitchell Swepson picked up five wickets in between them against Melbourne Stars in the tournament opener. The duo along with Xavier Bartlett will again be looking to do the same damage. Skipper Usman Khawaja and Colin Munro will be vital in a big run-chase.

THU vs HEA, Match 6 - Top Captain and Vice-captain choices

Scenario: If Brisbane Heat Fields First

Usman Khawaja (HEA)

Usman Khawaja has donned the captaincy hat for the Heat this season. The left-handed opening batter scored 28 off 19 which included four fours against the Stars. Khawaja will look to lead his side from the front by getting a big score this time around especially if his side is up against a big target.

Colin Munro (HEA)

New Zealander Colin Munro won the Player of the Match award against Melbourne Stars. The left-handed explosive Kiwi slammed an unbeaten 99 off just 61 with the help of nine fours and five maximums. His knock helped Heat in defeating Stars by a huge margin of 103 runs. Munro is a no-brainer pick for this category.

Scenario: If Sydney Thunder Fields First

Alex Hales (THU)

Former England opener Alex Hales is a key member in Thunder line-up. The right-handed opening player is the second highest run-getter for Thunder in the history of the BBL. The Sydney side will rely heavily on him to provide a solid start in a big run-chase. Hales has been playing for Thunder for some time now and is an experienced member in this unit.

Cameron Bancroft (THU)

Cameron Bancroft is another crucial member in the Thunder line-up. The right-handed player has a good average of 34 which includes 12 half-centuries in the Bib Bash League. Bancroft along with Hales have to do the bulk of the scoring the Sydney side.

SYT vs BRH, Match 6 - Big Risk, Big Return Choices

Alex Ross (THU)

Alex Ross has played 49 BBL matches for Sydney Thunder. He will be appearing in his 50th game for the franchise. The right-hander is also approaching 1000 runs for Thunder with 991 runs to his name at an average of 31 and five half-centuries. He might be a risky but worthy pick for this contest.

Sam Billings (HEA)

Wicketkeeper batter Sam Billings scored an unbeaten 18 off 11 with one four and one maximum against the Stars. The right-handed middle-order batter came in to bat at no. four. Billings might not play a big knock like some of the other top-order players but he is an useful pick for this category.
