SCO vs STR, Knockout - Toss Factor

The Perth Stadium is well known for its pace and bounce and generally favours the pacers. The new ball rides well with some movement off the deck making it difficult for the batters to survive. However, if the batter gets hang of the strip, they can use the pace and bounce to their advantage. The spinners usually do not get a great turn but could get a bit of more luck as the strips are worn out.

Scenario: If Strikers field first

The likes of Chris Lynn and Matt Short have been tremendous in piling up totals for the Strikers. The duo have orchestrated a plethora of runs while chasing this season. Although D’Arcy Short hasn't been that effective at the top, Jake Weatherald found his groove, bolstering the top four of the franchise.

Scenario: If Perth Scorchers field first

The Scorchers have a well-balanced unit that are capable of doing unthinkable things with both bat and ball. From Josh Inglis to Aaron Hardie and from Cooper Connolly to Nick Hobson some one or the other generally steps up for the side when it matters the most.

SCO vs STR, Knockout - Top Captain and Vice-captain Choices

Scenario: If Adelaide Strikers field first

Matt Short (STR): The Australian all-rounder continued from where he left in the last BBL edition. Leading by an example, Matt has racked up 509 runs from nine innings with an impressive average and strike rate. The top-order batter has scored less than 38 just once in the ongoing season. He can also be more than handy with his finger spin and can extract wickets as well.

Aaron Hardie (SCO): The Aussie all-rounder is one of the next big thing in the nation. Hardie smashed 328 runs from ten innings during BBL 13. He is tall and can generate extra bounce with the ball to outwit the opposition batters. Hardie has been in great touch with his three-dimensional skills and can win matches for the five-time champions on his day.

Scenario: If Perth Scorchers field first

Chris Lynn (STR): The capped Australian cricketer was seen whacking the ball ferociously during the coveted season of BBL. He is the second leading run-getter for his side with 304 runs from seven matches. Lynn has a batting average of 60.80 and has learned to soak pressure and convert it to a match-winning knock.

Laurie Evans (SCO): The English cricketer recently took the BBL stage by a storm after bulldozing 85* off 28 balls. He smashed 292 runs from seven matches and possesses an impressive average in the mid fifties. He has been articulating the role of a finisher for the Scorchers this season and the management has always heaped praise for him.

SCO vs STR, Knockout - High Risk, High Reward Choices

Lance Morris(SCO): Having bagged thirteen wickets from ten matches, Lance Morris has blown hot and cold during the ongoing season. Although the speedster is suited to similar conditions as that of Perth- that favours pace and bounce, he will look to capitalise every bit of offering from the strip. It is also worth noting that Morris bagged a fifer and a three-fer so far in the tourney.

Jamie Overton (STR): The English medium pacer has been fiery with the new ball this season. He has the knack of hitting the right areas and forcing the batters to opt for a wrong shot selection. Jamie has snapped 16 wickets so far and is the leading wicket-taker for the Strikers this season.
