In a significant moment, the legendary Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon, MS Dhoni, was spotted wearing a sleeveless Mumbai Indians (MI) jersey during a casual football match. The viral image has left fans stunned and speculating: Is Dhoni planning to switch to MI in IPL 2026?
With his IPL future already in talks, this picture has definitely added fuel to ongoing speculation. In IPL 2025, Dhoni had returned to lead CSK in the absence of Ruturaj Gaikwad (due to injury).
Will Dhoni really play for MI in IPL 2026?
It is important to note that the photo was shared on Instagram by entrepreneur and influencer Arjun Vaidya. He posed the picture alongside MS Dhoni and others after a friendly football match.
The post was captioned - 'Football game with MS'.
However, there is no official confirmation from Dhoni or franchise regarding this matter.

Interestingly, Dhoni was retained by CSK in IPL 2025 for ₹4 crore under the BCCI's newly introduced policy that classifies a player as uncapped if they have not played international cricket or held a central contract in the last five years.
