India's acclaimed wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal tied the knot with friend and professional dancer Dhanashree Verma in 2020 in a grand ceremony in Delhi. Several influential people attended the wedding as they witnessed the union of two opposite individuals.
While Chahal is a professional cricketer with no connection to the world of glamour, Dhanashree's interest in the sport had been minimal before she met Yuzi in an unconventional encounter.
Chahal met Dhanashree during Covid pandemic when he wanted to learn dance during lockdown. Eventually, the teacher-student relationship turned into a romantic affair, as Chahal proposed, within a few months of their courtship.
That being said, Dhanashree Verma is currently participating in an Indian dance-based reality show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'. Moreover, earlier today, the wrist spinner was spotted on the sets of the television show cheering for her wife as she performed on stage.
The paparazzi papped Chahal, and the cricketer was cordially obliged to pose for a couple of photos before making his way to the vanity van.
Chahal's International Career In Jeopardy
On a professional front, Yuzvendra Chahal is currently not in the Indian team's scheme of things. He was snubbed from the recent senior team selection for the T20 series against Afghanistan, which is scheduled to go on floors next week.
Interestingly, Chahal has been sidelined from the national team for a while now. He wasn't a part of the ODI World Cup squad as well.
With the T20 World Cup on the horizon, Chahal's future in international cricket is on the line. He has to perform during IPL to stand a chance at a comeback. The wrist spinner's immediate competitors are Kuldeep Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi. He needs to defeat their stats to strengthen his contention.
Yuzi is with Rajasthan Royals, led by Sanju Samson, who is also coincidentally fighting for his place in the national team. Thus, the upcoming IPL season is pivotal for both of these individuals.
