On Monday, Team India departed for Australia from Delhi to lock horns against the Men in Yellow for a multi-format tour starting from October 19. Most of the squad was already in the capital, while the rest arrived in New Delhi to leave together in a single batch.
Eyes were on Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as the fans gathered in thousands at the airport to get a glimpse of their favourite stars, who return to India in colour for the first time since the Champions Trophy 2025 final.
Virat Kohli makes a RCB fan's day with special gesture
It was an extra special moment for Virat fans as Kohli was in London since the IPL final and returned to his home state for the first time in four months. Meanwhile, heavy security was deployed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, and it was tough for the fans to get near Virat to get a selfie or an autograph.
Meanwhile, a video has gone viral on the internet where Kohli took care of his fans and actually asked the security to bring posters from fans near the team bus. An RCB fan shared a clip where Virat signed posters despite the heavy security.
Kohli was seen gesturing to one of the team India's staff member to bring a few posters in the bus so that he can sign them and return to the fans, who were waiting in the queue for a longtime.
Virat Kohli likely to be on a lengthy India stay
Ever since retiring from Tests and T20Is, Virat is seen less in India and spends more time with his family in UK. However, the ongoing tour is likely to be lengthy and not just restricted to Australia tour as there are reports that Virat and Rohit will play a few Vijay Hazare Trophy games.
Notably, Virat and Rohit are under the scanner and have been asked to perform in domestic tournament to get a place in India's squad for 2027 ODI World Cup.
