The Irish beauty recently shared what caught her eye the first time she met the left-handed swashbuckler. In a recent promotional video, Sophie Shine sat beside Shikhar Dhawan and blushed her way through a rather sweet confession.

“Definitely, his beautiful face. He had very mischievous eyes,” she said, stealing glances at the man himself. 

It wasn’t the cover drive, the moustache twirl or the Instagram reels, it was those cheeky eyes that bowled her over.

Shikhar Dhawan Spills The Beans On His Love Story With Sophie Shine

Dhawan spilled the beans on how the two first crossed paths. It was at a restaurant in Dubai.

“We met at a restaurant in Dubai and it was a great feeling. Sophie was wearing a camouflage trousers and jacket. She was looking very beautiful,” said the former PBKS star.

From that low-key dinner to showing up hand-in-hand at airports and matches, the two kept their romance under wraps until the rumours hit top gear.

The buzz around Dhawan and his “mystery woman” picked up when fans spotted them together during the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai where Dhawan was the brand ambassador. Soon after, Sophie was seen cheering for Punjab Kings throughout the IPL and it wasn’t long before she became a familiar face for cricket fans.

Though Dhawan chose to stay tight-lipped, Sophie made it Insta-official earlier this year, posting a sweet update that left no room for doubt.

Who Is Sophie Shine?

Sophie isn’t just about airport looks and cricket matches. She has got a sharp mind to match that smile. Born in Ireland, Sophie holds a degree in Marketing and Management from Limerick Institute of Technology and is an alumna of Castleroy College.

Professionally, she works as a Second Vice President at Northern Trust Corporation in Abu Dhabi and has years of experience as a product consultant.

New Innings For Dhawan

After a public divorce with Aesha Mukherjee in 2023, with whom he was married for 11 years, Dhawan seems to have found peace and joy in this new chapter. Sophie has even been staying with him in India, standing by his side.
