What Was Lalit Modi's Scam?
The Lalit Modi IPL scam revolves around financial irregularities during Modi's tenure as the chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Modi, who played a key role in establishing the IPL in 2008, was accused of rigging bids for television and sponsorship deals, misappropriating funds, and engaging in money laundering.
In 2010, Modi was suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and in 2011, he was charged with multiple counts of financial misconduct. While Modi fled to London in 2010 to avoid arrest, investigations continued in India. Despite the controversy, Modi's latest post reveals his new found love.
