Former Indian captain and senior pro Rohit Sharma is gearing up to return to the national squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa. After a successful ODI tour of Australia, at least on an individual note, the legendary opener batter was spotted hitting the gym, as per his own social media update.

Rohit Sharma even shared pictures of his seemingly-joyous time, where he can be seen chatting with Mumbai Indians team physio Amit Dubey.

Rohit Sharma credits Amit Dubey for workout “smiles”

On Monday, November 24, Rohit Sharma shared a couple of pictures from his time at the gym. He also shared a moment of his reunion with Mumbai Indians team physio Amit Dubey, crediting the latter for “sponsoring smiles” during his workout routine.

In the caption, Rohit Sharma jokingly wrote:

“Smiles sponsored by Dube ji. T&C apply.”

Rohit Sharma retired from Test cricket earlier this year prior to India’s five-match tour of England. He subsequently made his return to the national side for the ODI series in Australia, aggregating 202 runs in three innings with a century and a fifty at a splendid average of 101.

The legendary opening batter, along with fellow seasoned and ageing veteran Virat Kohli have now been selected in India’s squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against South Africa at home. The series serves as an early checkpoint in India’s roadmap towards the 2027 World Cup.

The three ODI matches will be hosted by Ranchi, Nava Raipur and Vizag on November 30, December 3 and December 6 respectively.
