Shubman Gill, often hailed as the 'Prince' and the 'King to be' of Indian cricket, has long been a favourite among female cricket fans since his early days with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Currently leading India in the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy in England, Gill has remained in the spotlight, and this time, it’s not just for his cricket.
Female Fan Records Gill Walking On The Streets Of London
A female fan named Raj Nandani Sharma caught the attention of the internet after an encounter with the Indian skipper on the streets of London. Spotting Shubman Gill from a distance, Sharma recreated Shah Rukh Khan's iconic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge dialogue to get his attention.
In a video posted on her Instagram account, Sharma was heard saying “Palat, Palat, Palat”, a famous line from the film, implying her hope that Gill would turn around and notice her.
The video showed Gill dressed in a brown jacket and baggy white trousers, walking with a group of acquaintances. With his back turned towards the camera, the Indian captain remained unaware as the fan recorded him from afar on the streets of London.
Gill Continues To Charm On And Off The Field
Gill has long been admired not just for his elegant batting but also for his good looks, which have helped him amass a huge following of 16.6 million on Instagram. While his charm continues to win hearts, his performances with the bat have also earned praise.
In the ongoing series, Shubman Gill is the leading run-scorer, having piled up 607 runs in just three Tests. He averages an incredible 101.17 across six innings, including a top score of 269 at Edgbaston.
Gill will continue to lead India in the fifth and final Test in Manchester, starting July 23. With England leading the series 2-1, the decider promises to be a high-stakes thriller for both the Men in Blue and the Three Lions.
