KKR’s re-scheduled home fixture against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) took off at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday, April 8. Celebrating the occasion, home fans in Kolkata pulled out an eye-catching banner in the stands in support of their team.
The banner, in contention, features the KKR franchise getting compared with the lead characters of the popular heist crime drama ‘Money Heist’. As KKR bids for its successful title-defense, the fans also shared a motivational message for the competing players through the banner.
KKR fans motivate team, ‘Money Heist’ style
On Tuesday, April 8, Kolkata Knight Riders fans came out in huge numbers at the Eden Gardens to support their team. A group of fans in the stands even shared a motivational message for the players, all while giving an iconic tribute to a popular television show, titled ‘Money Heist’.
In a banner displayed in the stands, fans drew KKR franchise owner Shahrukh Khan, stylized as the show’s lead character, ‘The Professor’. In the caption, the KKR fans wrote “We rise, we fall, we conquer”, and displayed the three trophies the franchise has won so far.
Nonetheless, as far as cricketing action is concerned, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and opted to field first. The LSG openers got off to a flier, racing to 59 runs from the first six overs without losing a wicket.
Under the leadership of Rahane, the KKR franchise is currently ranked fifth on the IPL 2025 points table by securing two wins and sustaining two defeats from four games. As of now, their NRR reads 0.070.
