A prominent astrologer has forecast a glittering future for Shubman Gill as a batter but has raised serious concerns about his immediate suitability to lead India in ICC tournaments. 

The prediction suggests that while Gill is destined to become Indian cricket's next run-machine, appointing him ODI captain now could jeopardise the nation's chances of winning a World Cup, which also hints towards the possible shift towards Shreyas Iyer as the captain.

Astrologer Predicts Run-Machine Future For Gill, But...

Renowned astrologer Greenstone Lobo delved into Gill's astrological chart, acknowledging the uncertainty around his exact year of birth but affirming its inherent strength.

"He has got all the asteroids very powerful. He has got a Pluto in grey lizard. See Pluto in grey lizard avatar belongs to a person who will overcome the biggest of challenges and become victorious,” Lobo told in an exclusive interview with TOI.

Lobo cited Gill's recent Test series draw as evidence of this inherent leadership quality. However, Lobo was vehemently opposed to the idea of Gill taking over the ODI captaincy, basing his argument on planetary alignments crucial for defeating "enemies" or opponents in high-stakes tournaments.

“See, to beat enemies in sports and that too at the highest level, then you need some extraordinary horoscope. So for example if you are looking at somebody like MS Dhoni or it can be Rohit Sharma, both of them had the strongest planet in their chart used to be in the 7th house," Lobo said.

Gill To Have Good Rapport With Gambhir

Lobo's prediction also highlighted Shubman Gill’s potential to deliver consistent performances in upcoming bilateral series under the guidance of coach Gautam Gambhir. While acknowledging the challenges of overseas tours, particularly in Australia and other testing conditions, it suggested that Gill could still achieve remarkable records. 

The partnership between Gill and Gambhir was seen as a promising combination expected to bring significant success for India, especially in direct contests where Gill’s form and Gambhir’s strategies could complement each other effectively. His final warning was clear, while an IPL title is possible, immediate ICC glory is not in the stars for Captain Gill.
