A glorious chapter of the Indian cinema came to an end as veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89. With a stellar six-decade career, he redefined the industry and gifted the nation with some true cinematic gems.

After Indian cinema lost a legendary star, the nation united in grief. As the cricketers also came forward, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli shared their condolences with the veteran actor’s family.

A glorious career of almost 65 years, over 300 superhit films, some of the charismatic moves, Daharmendra was not just a star, as the entire nation placed him in their hearts. Every Indian cinema lover has atleast one favorite Dharmendra film. But today, the nation bid a heartbreaking goodbye to its own He-Man.

Battling with a long-term illness, the veteran Bollywood actor passed away at the age of 89, leaving fans and family emotional. The nation mourned the loss of this cinematic gem, and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar paid a heartfelt tribute, sharing his deep admiration for the legend.

“I, like many others, took an instant liking to Dharmendra ji, the actor, who entertained us with his versatility. That on-screen bond became stronger off-screen when I met him. His energy was incredibly infectious, and he would always tell me, “Tumko dekhkar ek kilo khoon badh jaata hai mera,” he wrote.


“He had an effortless warmth, making everyone around him feel valued and special. It was impossible not to be a fan of the person he was. Today, my heart feels heavy with his passing. Aisa lagta hai jaise mera 10 kilo khoon kam ho gaya hai. Will miss you,” he added.

In the timeless classics like Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Satyakam, Anupama, Seeta Aur Geeta, the legend carved his own legacy. It's just not Master Blaster; Virat Kohli also extended his heartfelt condolences to the veteran actor’s family. On his social media handle, he penned down an emotional note.

“Today, we have lost a legend of Indian cinema who captivated hearts with his charm and his talent. A true icon who inspired everyone who watched him. May the family find strength in this tough time. My sincere condolences to the whole family,” he wrote.

Over the years, the legendary actor delivered some of the iconic movies to Indian cinema. Though India has lost one of its brightest gems, his unforgettable dialogues like “Na main girta hoon, na mujhe koi gira sakta hai… main insaan hoon, paththar nahi” will keep his memory alive for generations.
