According to a recent report of The Times of India, MS Dhoni is currently undergoing an intense training routine at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi. CSK’s future still revolves around MS Dhoni

After IPL 2025, there were talks that MS Dhoni might not play the next season (IPL 2026). But despite widespread speculation about Dhoni's retirement, the former India skipper will likely to continue playing for CSK in the upcoming season.

Recently, CSK's CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that Dhoni has communicated his decision to continue playing and will once again feature in IPL. It can be said that this news must have brought immense relief to CSK fans. Even now, at 44, Dhoni's presence remains central to the franchise’s brand, fan base, and on-field strategy.

Taking a look at the overall stats, the former star player has 278 matches in the cash-rich league. He has made 5439 runs at a strike-rate of 137.45 and an average of 38.30.
