Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah seems to have enjoyed his England tour to its fullest. Apart from bamboozling the Englishmen with his fiery pace, Bumrah also seemingly found time to appear in a popular UK-based YouTube show, where he compared some English treats with classic Indian snacks.
The Indian speedster played three Tests on the tour, and was rested from the series-decider at The Oval in London in a bid to manage his workload. An earlier report even claimed that Bumrah had suffered a knee injury before the fifth Test, but no official confirmation has been provided yet.
Jasprit Bumrah Picks Indian Samosa Over UK Treat
Jasprit Bumrah recently appeared in a popular YouTube show titled ‘Snack Wars’, where he was asked to compare some popular UK snacks with Indian classics. In a video shared by SPORTbible on Thursday, August 7; the cricketer started out by comparing UK’s scampi fries with the renowned Indian snack, Bhujia. Much to everyone’s surprise, Bumrah picked the scampi fries over the Indian treat.
Between UK’s pickled walnuts and India’s all-famous Pakora, Bumrah once again picked the former. However, the 31-year-old picked chakli over twiglets, chicken biryani over fish and chips; and the classic samosa over cheese and onion bake as Indian snacks took a 3-2 lead over their UK counterparts for the Gujarat-born cricketer.
What’s Next For Jasprit Bumrah?
After India’s drawn Test series in England, the Indian team will likely tour Sri Lanka for white-ball fixtures. However, the BCCI and the SLC are yet to come up with an official schedule for the tour.
If the tour does not go ahead as planned, Team India will next travel to the UAE for the 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup. With several reports indicating that Jasprit Bumrah might well miss India’s Asia Cup campaign, it remains to be seen when the Indian speedster will be gracing the national colours again.
