Hubli Tigers beat Mysore Warriors by eight runs to win the Maharaja Trophy 2023, previously known as the Karnataka Premier League (KPL). KPL was an Indian Twenty20 cricket league established by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) in August 2009.

It was modelled after the Indian Premier League (IPL) after KPL was replaced by Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 in 2022 due to betting and match-fixing scandals.

Batting first, Hubli Tigers posted a total of 203 runs on the board for the loss of eight wickets. Mohammed Taha top scored with a knock of 72 off 40 while Manish Pandey, the captain of the side, scored a half-century off 23 deliveries to take the Tigers to a good total.

In the chase, Mysuru put up a good fight before falling short of the target by just eight runs. Ravikumar Samarth top scored with a knock of 63 off 35 while skipper Karun Nair scored 37 off 20. For Hubli, Manvanth Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets.

An ecstatic Manish Pandey posed with the trophy with his wife after the match. Pandey married Ashrita Shetty in 2019.

Nair, meanwhile, Manish finished as the leading run-scorer of this edition of the tournament . The right-handed batter scored 532 runs from 12 matches at an average of 48.36 and a strike-rate of 162.69 with the help of 52 fours and 21 sixes.

Manvanth Kumar, on the other hand, finished as the leading wicket-taker. He took 22 wickets at an average of 12.09 with one four-wicket haul and one five-wicket haul.
