The much-awaited match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is only two days away. The match will be played at the Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy on September 2. The last time India and Pakistan played an ODI against each other was way back in 2019, in the ODI World Cup.

There is always a lot of hype surrounding a match between India and Pakistan, not just in cricket but in other sports as well. In the buildup to the game, several former cricketers from both countries have been giving their previews and analysis.

Former Pakistan cricket team batter Basit Ali has alerted the Babar Azam led to be weary of the threat Virat Kohli could bring with him. Ali feels that Kohli, who has historically performed well in matches against Pakistan, could pose a danger to the Pakistan bowlers. He also feels that both India and Pakistan will make it to the final of the six-team tournament.

"I feel India and Pakistan will play each other 3 times. I think India and Pakistan will play the final. The first match is Kandy and I think it will be a bowling vs batting encounter. Pakistan has the best bowling attack in the world. But, India have a dangerous batter in Virat Kohli. He always performs well against Pakistan. Being a batter, if I am afraid of someone, it is Virat Kohli," Basit said on Nadir Ali's podcast.

In 13 ODI matches against Pakistan, Kohli has amassed 536 runs at an average of 48.72. Kohli's highest-ever ODI total of 183 also came against Pakistan in the Asia Cup.
