Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are one of India’s most loved celebrity couples. Everyone wants to meet them and take pictures with them. A few years ago, young cricketer Nitish Kumar Reddy also wanted the same; a proper photo with Virat Kohli. However, due to strict security, he couldn't get close to him at an event.

Recently, in a chat on Puma’s YouTube channel, Nitish shared the story of what happened at the Naman Under-16 Awards when he tried to get a picture with Virat Kohli, who was there with his wife, Anushka Sharma.

Nitish’s Struggle to Get a Picture with Virat Kohli

Nitish recalled, “I was 16 at the time and really wanted a good photo with him [Virat Kohli]. But since I couldn’t ask him directly, I tried to take a selfie secretly. He was sitting right behind me, and I didn’t have a phone back then. So, I borrowed my uncle’s phone and took a selfie from the background, hoping he wouldn’t notice.”

Anushka Sharma’s Kind Gesture Towards Nitish Reddy

What happened next was unexpected. Nitish continued, “Later, I still wanted a proper picture with him, but there were bodyguards, and it was his prime time; no one was allowed near him. That’s when Anushka Sharma noticed my struggle. She came up to me and said, ‘Come, I will give you a picture.’ I was surprised and really happy because I didn’t expect her to do that.”

Since that day, Nitish has never spoken about this moment to Virat or Anushka. However, his sister, Tejaswi, later told Anushka Sharma about the picture and even showed it to her during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia when Nitish made his international debut.

On the professional front, the Andhra-star batter is currently playing in IPL 2025. He is representing Sunrisers Hyderabad, the runners-up of the IPL 2024 season.
