Here's What Jasprit Bumrah Had To Say About Meeting His 'Arrogant' Wife Sanjana Ganesan
Jasprit Bumrah, who is currently leading India in a T20I series against Ireland, got married to sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan in March 2021. The wedding, which took place in Goa, was attended by only close friends and family.
In a conversation with Dinesh Karthik two years ago, Bumrah revealed how and when a romantic interest developed between him and Sanjana. It all began during the ICC 2019 World Cup in England.
"I had obviously seen her a lot of times but we had the same problem with each other. She thought I was really arrogant, I thought she was really arrogant so we never really spoke. I spoke to her for the first time during the 2019 World Cup when she was here covering the event. We became friends and started talking a lot. It’s been good, we have been married for five months now, so yeah very happy," Bumrah said on Sky Sports back in 2021.
The bowler further added that being married to a woman who follows and understands the spot has been an advantage because that helps her understand Bumrah's mindset even better.
"She understands the sport, she understands what the player goes through, so whenever things don’t go well or go well, we have a lot of interesting conversations, that really helps me. And, obviously, playing cricket and travelling all the time, you’ve got your wife with you now, so, you really have to focus on other things as well," Bumrah said.
"You can switch off after the game. All these factors are really helpful and I’m really happy how this relationship has developed," he added.
Meanwhile, in the second T20I against Ireland, Bumrah bowled a total of 4 overs, one of which was a maiden over. This was his 10th maiden over in international cricket. With this achievement, he is now second on the list of bowlers with most maiden overs in the history of men's T20I cricket.
