David Beckham Among Famous Stars To Watch IND-NZ World Cup Semifinal

The first semifinal of the ICC World Cup 2023 between tournament hosts India and New Zealand is turning out to be the most-anticipated encounter of the decade. 

With Men In Blue striving to avenge their infamous loss in the 2019 semifinal of the marquee tournament, a jampacked crowd at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is expected for the fixture. 

Apart from being the economic capital of India, the city is host to heaps of Bollywood film stars and esteemed businessmen apart from famous personalities from all walks of life. All of them could be present at the ground for the high-voltage battle for supremacy and a place in the tournament's summit clash in Ahmedabad next Sunday (November 19).

Also present for the popular bout will be former England football captain David Beckham, who will be a surprise big-name personality present at the Wankhede for a cricket match set to be watched globally by billions on television and live streaming platforms. 

David Beckham To Attend IND-NZ Semifinal 

As part of the goodness initiative, multiple famous personalities have attended World Cup 2023 matches to spread awareness. Beckham will be the latest goodwill ambassador of UNICEF to be present at a match for the mighty successful tournament. 

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder will be enriching the match-up between India and New Zealand with his great presence inside the Wankhede Stadium. 

Earlier during the tournament, maestro Sachin Tendulkar and Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan had played the UNICEF goodness ambassador at the prestigious venue for the India-Sri Lanka clash and spoke to the crowds in the mid-innings break. 

The India-New Zealand semifinal kickstarts on 2:00 PM IST and will be the precursor to the second of the two major pre-finale knock-out clashes, with Australia and South Africa set to contest the other in Kolkata on Thursday (November 16).
