After facing backlash for trolling Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli, YouTuber CarryMinati has come up with an apology note in which he can be seen defending himself.

CarryMinati has been on the receiving end of backlash on social media platforms, particularly from Virat Kohli and RCB fans. Just ahead of the start of IPL 2024, Star Sports collaborated with CarryMinati, also known as Ajey Nagar.

The 24-year-old content creator from Delhi was appointed as the new face of 'Cheeky Singles', a special weekly show by Star Sports that highlights the lighter side of cricket.

Following the conclusion of the match between RCB and CSK, CarryMinati was seen mocking RCB, particularly targeting Kohli. He commented that Kohli's avoidance of sweets is not due to dietary reasons but because he lacks any reason to celebrate.

This light-hearted taunt did not go down well with fans, especially when CarryMinati also compared Kohli to Rohit Sharma. Subsequently, 'Shame on CarryMinati' started trending on social media platforms. However, the tag was also used by haters to promote Ajey Nagar's video on Kohli.

In response to the controversy, CarryMinati defended himself, stating: "I just checked Twitter and there seems to be a misunderstanding. I am doing a show which includes a skit that some people are getting upset about. Please watch the entire skit to understand the storyline. Why would I disrespect Virat bhai in real life?

During RCB's match against CSK, Kohli, returning after a gap of almost two months, scored 21 runs off 20 deliveries. Despite a faltering middle-order, Kohli attempted to stabilize the innings and guide the team to a competitive total. However, his efforts fell short, and it was Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik who stepped up to help RCB reach a total of 173, only to be chased down by CSK within 19 overs.
