Cricket contributing to a good cause is not a new thing. Over the years, we have seen various exhibition matches being organised when society has faced a severe crisis.
Recently, India and Pakistan have been affected by serious floods. Pakistan have suffered massive damage from the natural disaster. The PSL franchise, Peshawar Zalmi, has organised a flood relief match at the Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar.
The biggest attraction of the match is superstar Babar Azam playing for the Zalmis in this game. The Legends XI also looks star-studded, featuring names like Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan, and many other notable figures from yesteryear.
Notably, the Legends won the toss and put the Zalmis to bat. Babar Azam made a great start to his knock as he tore down Shoaib Akhtar. He was moving ahead brilliantly and was looking set for a big score.
Saeed Ajmal Gets The Better Of Babar Azam
However, the master spinner, Saeed Ajmal, got the better of the Pakistan star. Babar was looking confident after he slammed Ajmal for a six over long-on the fourth delivery of the sixth over. On the next delivery, Ajmal bowled a bit flatter at the stumps.
Babar swung across the line but missed it completely. The ball crashed onto the off and middle stump and cut Azam's stay short in the middle. Babar walked out of the pitch scoring 41 runs off 23 deliveries.
The dismissal showed the mastery Ajmal still has over his art. He tossed up the previous delivery inducing a big shot from Babar. On the very next delivery, he bowled it quicker while maintaining the same length, and thus deceived Azam.
The cause is noble for which the match is being played, and the presence of legends also makes this a nostalgic occasion for the fans. The players will hope to contribute the best they can through their trade to the society's welfare.`
