Anushka Sharma's Savagely Replies To CSK's 'Mocking' Wish On Virat Kohli's 35th Birthday

On the 5th of November, as Virat Kohli marked his 35th birthday, the cricketing world is watching him in action during the World Cup 2023, battling it out against South Africa in the 34th match of the prestigious tournament.

 However, it wasn't just the cricketing action that made headlines on Kohli's special day. His wife, the talented actress Anushka Sharma, took a savage dig at the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise with a playful Instagram post to celebrate her husband's birthday.

The post featured a lighthearted reference to one of Virat Kohli's lesser-known moments on the cricket field. Anushka shared a snippet from the past when Kohli, an illustrious batter, briefly turned his arm over to bowl in a T20I match against England in 2011. 


In that match, he bowled a wide on his very first delivery, and subsequently, MS Dhoni stumped Kevin Pietersen. Anushka posted the picture with a touch of humour, highlighting Kohli's unique wicket-taking record on the "0th" ball of his T20I career.

The playful post by Anushka also harked back to a conversation between CSK and former cricketer Albie Morkel. 11 years ago, Morkel had a memorable performance against Kohli, hitting as many as 28 runs in one over in the IPL. 

While Kohli's bowling prowess has been rarely on display in recent years, with only one ODI wicket against South Africa to his name, fans and cricket enthusiasts were left wondering whether the "King" would add to his tally on this special day.
