Former England cricket captain Andrew Strauss has remarried in a private ceremony in South Africa. The 48-year-old wed Antonia Linnaeus-Peat, 30, at a vineyard in Franschhoek, marking a significant personal moment seven years after losing his first wife, Ruth, to cancer.
The couple, accompanied only by close family, celebrated away from public attention. Strauss, who has largely maintained a private life since his bereavement, shared the news and photographs quietly on social media, opening a new chapter with his new partner, who is a former PR executive and now runs her own fine art advisory business.

Andrew Strauss posted an emotional tribute alongside the images. “Celebrating the most special day in our favourite part of the world. Thank you for loving me and the boys the way you do and for showing us true happiness – I am so lucky to have found you. Here’s to a lifetime of beautiful memories, my girl,” Strauss wrote on his wall.

The couple had been seen together publicly for around two years. Linnaeus-Peat, who grew up in Hong Kong and was educated in Wiltshire, now operates Linnaeus Fine Art Advisory Limited.
What happened to Strauss' late wife Ruth?
For the unaware, Strauss’s first wife, Ruth, passed away in 2018 at age 46. They were married for 15 years and have two sons.
In response to her death from a rare lung cancer, Strauss established the Ruth Strauss Foundation, which supports families facing parental bereavement and funds research. His charitable work contributed to his receiving a knighthood in 2019.
The intentionally small wedding also clarifies his absence from England’s current Ashes tour in Australia. Strauss, who moved to England from South Africa as a child, captained the national team to a famous Ashes victory in Australia.
