Famous filmmaker Karan Johar has finally revealed why Indian star Virat Kohli has never appeared on his popular show 'Koffee With Karan'. In a recent conversation with Sania Mirza on Myntra's Glam Stream, Johar explained that he has never invited Virat and does not plan to invite any cricketers in the future.
It is important to note that Karan Johar is referring to the controversy that erupted in 2019. The episode featured Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul.
“I have never asked Virat. And now, I am not asking any cricketers after what happened with Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul." He added, “There are many who I just felt wouldn’t come, so I never asked them in the first place." he said.

Karan Johar commented on the controversy and even said that he would blame himself for the problems that both Hardik and KL faced later on.
"I have to say that I feel very responsible because it was my show and my platform. I invited them as guests, and so the ramifications and the repercussions of the show are my responsibility," said Karan Johar.
During the show, Hardik Pandya made several poor and inappropriate remarks about women, including personal preference about his experiences and controversial claims about learning to 'treat women' by observing "West Indian players and black culture."
The episode created a massive backlash, prompting the BCCI to suspend both players and issue show-cause notices. It is important to note that the Indian board also fined Rs 20 lakh each.
KL Rahul also reflected on the incident in a later interview. He stated that the episode completely changed him and was a huge shock to his career. The fallout from the episode left a lasting impact on him. Hardik also took to his social media and apologised for his remarks and said that he was carried away during the show.
