ZIM vs BAN: Yasir and Saifuddin to miss Zimbabwe tour

Bangladesh all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin and batter Yasir Ali are expected to miss the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe as both players are recovering from injuries.

The middle-order batter was injured during a three-day practice match against the Cricket West Indies (CWI) President's XI in Antigua. He was later ruled out of the series altogether after the MRI scan showed that he had discogenic back pain in the lumbar spine.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed that Yasir is poised to miss the upcoming tour to Zimbabwe. But the board is expecting him to be fit by the time of the Asia Cup 2022.

BCB says Yasir doubtful starter for the Zimbabwe tour

''Yasir (Ali) will probably not be able to make it in the Zimbabwe tour but we are expecting him to be available from the Asia Cup,'' BCB's selection panel member, Habibul Bashar told Cricbuzz on Monday.

"Let's see how he gets on with the rehabilitation program and we can call him later," said BCB chief medical officer Debashish Chowdhury.

Tricky last few months for Saifuddin

Saifuddin on the other hand has been on the sidelines since the last T20 World Cup in UAE. He sustained a back injury and left the tournament midway. The seam-bowling all-rounder returned to the national side for the West Indies tour following his performance in the Dhaka Premier League, where he bagged 22 wickets and scored 220 runs.
