Indian Test opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has reportedly informed the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) that he will be available to feature in Mumbai’s next Ranji Trophy 2025-26 match against Rajasthan. The match will be hosted by the iconic Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur between November 1 and November 4.
Jaiswal recently toured Australia as part of India’s ODI squad, but failed to receive a single crack in the playing XI.
Yashasvi Jaiswal to use Ranji Trophy as warm-up after AUS break
Yashasvi Jaiswal will likely use Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy 2025-26 match against Rajasthan next week as his warm-up before India’s upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa in November. The maverick opener recently played India’s two-match home rubber against West Indies, where he aggregated 219 runs in three innings at a prolific average of 73.
However, Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to get a single crack in the Indian playing XI during the subsequent away ODI series against Australia. With roughly 18 days more remaining before India’s home Test series against South Africa, an Indian Express report has confirmed that the youngster will play Mumbai’s away Elite Group D fixture against Rajasthan after missing out on his team’s opening two games of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season against Jammu and Kashmir and Chhattisgarh.
It is worth noting that in between India’s away Test series against England and home series against West Indies, Yashasvi Jaiswal also found time to play the second semifinal of the 2025 Duleep Trophy season for the West Zone.
In England a couple of months ago, the blistering left-handed opener minted 411 runs in 10 innings at an average of 41.10 with two centuries and two fifties.
