In India, there is always a tussle between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli fans as to which player is better and has done more for his nation. Similarly, in Pakistan, the rivalry is between two of their biggest stars - Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi. The two players have been Pakistan’s biggest match-winners in recent times, and naturally, they have the biggest fanbase.
The Shaheen vs Babar fan rivalry was taken to the next level when Shaheen was recently appointed the Pakistan ODI captain, as he replaced Mohammad Rizwan. This infuriated the Babar fans as they believed the left-arm pacer was not the right choice for the captaincy role, and the position could have been given to someone else.
Did Salman Agha actually file a complaint against Shaheen Afridi?
Recently, a post went viral on social media, wherein reports mentioned that Pakistan’s T20I skipper, Salman Ali Agha met PCB Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, and he complained against Shaheen for doing politics in the team.

The post mentioned that Shaheen is not following the advice given by the head coach and the captain, and is trying to create a rift in the side. At first, the news looked authentic, but after careful consideration, it turned out to be false news spread to harm Shaheen’s image.
The account from which it was posted had a Babar Azam picture, and it was clear that the person was trying to express his frustration by spreading fake news.
Shaheen’s captaincy appointment met with mixed reviews
In a surprising turn of events, Shaheen was named the ODI captain as he replaced Mohammad Rizwan, who had a poor Champions Trophy. This appointment was met with mixed reaction as many believed this was the right decision by the management, while others criticised and believed that Rizwan was the ideal captaincy choice.
As a result, Shaheen is getting targeted by fans of Babar and Rizwan, and the fake news spread like wildfire.
