The much-awaited World Test Championship final is just around the corner. After securing the top two spots in the WTC points table, Australia and India are set to lock horns with each other for the decorated crown at Kennington Oval in England.

Ahead of the high-octane face-off, former New Zealand skipper Ross Taylor has reckoned that the surface at the Oval might favour India more than Australia.

Speaking to renowned broadcaster Harsha Bhogle at an event organised as a lead-up to the final, Taylor opined that the Oval track assists the spinners with the game's progression, which is why the presence of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja gives India an advantage.

However, the legendary batter also stated that the experience of playing the Ashes could significantly help Australia overcome the Indian challenge.

Here's what Taylor stated

"India have Jadeja and Ashwin, and if the ball does turn as the game goes on, I think that will play into India's hands."

"As we have seen that wherever India play around the world, they are well supported. Australian team play in the Ashes series a lot and have that experience of playing a 5-match series every 3 or 4 years."

Although Taylor is astute in his assessment, India have mostly preferred to go with Jadeja as a solitary spinner whenever they play in England. In such a scenario, it will be interesting to see whether they include Ashwin, dropping their potential fourth seamer Shardul Thakur in the WTC final.
