Legendary opener Virender Sehwag is confident that Virat Kohli will break Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar's record of most ODI centuries in the upcoming World Cup.

Sehwag was asked about the same by the Star Sports panel during the release of the WC schedule, and the swashbuckling opener said that it is very much possible for King Kohli to eclipse the 'God of Cricket' during the marquee event.

He also reserved special praise for Kohli, revealing that the 34-year-old is an ideal role model for all youngsters and he often cites the latters' example while interacting with them.

Here's what Virender Sehwag said:

"Possible, I always tell youngsters and my childrens to learn from Virat Kohli . He never throws his wicket and plays till the end" he said on Star Sports.

Speaking of Kohli's ODI numbers, the legendary run machine is just 4 centuries away from leapfrogging Sachin.

While Sachin scored 18426 runs in 452 innings with the help of 49 centuries, Kohli, the modern-day Indian great, has taken just 265 knocks to hammer 46 centuries to go along with his 12898 runs.

Kohli will feature in plenty of ODIs before the World Cup, and he will be looking to get past the milestone before the World Cup itself.

The former skipper will play 3 matches in the Caribbean, before locking horns with Asian neighbours in the Asia Cup. India will also play three ODIs against Australia before the World Cup.

Notably, Kohli has been in brilliant form in this format, having racked up 3 magnificent hundreds in the past 8 months.
